Peru Amazon Rainforest – Field Trips (Full Service)
Partner with Fauna Forever and we will help your high school, university/college, or agency develop an unforgettable, fulfilling, and above all safe learning and adventure experience with young inquisitive people in mind. With our breadth of experience of working with young people in a rainforest environment alongside our logistics and our qualified team of scientists, communicators, team leaders, and expedition fixers that are based out of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest gateway city of Puerto Maldonado, we are able to cater for groups of varying size (historically 10-25) and for varying lengths of time (historically 5-21 days).
From a organisational point of view, we can deal with everything from airport pick-up/drop-off in Puerto Maldonado, hotel/lodge reservations, land transport (car and bus rental) and river transport (fast boats, slow boats, and row boats), safety and medical considerations (accompanying doctor, emergency contact and extraction solutions), not to mention identifying and contracting specialist guides, drivers, cooks, local field assistants, and professional field researchers. We can also arrange venues and guest speakers who can give quality illustrated presentations in English or Spanish on topics as varied as the interrelated ecology of macaws and monkeys in Tambopata, ecotourism development in the Peruvian Amazon, ecosystem service flows and the economic valuation of rainforests, timber versus non-timber forest products, the benefits and impacts of the Interoceanica Highway, and the pros and cons of evolving Peruvian legislation on the integrity of protected areas and poverty alleviation, to name but a few. With the benefit of our generator, projector, and screen, such talks (and the subsequent discussions that they frequently generate) can be given at virtually any location with a roof.
We can also offer students the chance to question professional researchers and conservation scientists about their work and way of life. Participating for a short time on one or more of the wildlife research and conservation projects managed by Fauna Forever is also an option, as is assisting local native and mestizo communities with small, manageable, but very valuable projects that significantly benefit their welfare.
Due to the not-for-profit status of Fauna Forever, any profits from organising and implementing education-focussed field trips to the Peruvian rainforest will be ploughed straight back into research and conservation efforts in Tambopata.
Why Partner with Fauna Forever?
Over the last 15 years of field research and conservation work in the Tambopata rainforest area of Peru, the Fauna Forever team has learnt how to accomplish its aims in what many would describe as a challenging environment. In this time, we have amassed great deal of information on how to get things done efficiently, and we’re eager to share this knowledge for the benefit of others.
